ICCUSA 2006 Annual Report
At Grace Children’s Hospital, we admitted and treated 213 children with various diseases, 11 percent of whom were HIV positive. The outpatient clinics at Grace served an average of 323 patients per day, providing services like TB testing and treatment, medical care and counseling for HIV positive patients, and eye exams. In the communities surrounding the hospital, health workers reached more than 40,000 people through educational meetings and delivered vaccines to infants and young children. And in the barrios of Santiago, Dominican Republic, rehabilitation workers made more than 13,000 home visits to help children with disabilities become better integrated into their families.
The 17-member board of directors, comprised of members from across the U.S., led the strategic direction of ICCUSA. The staff continued to practice thoughtful stewardship of donations, and were proud to note that 81.7 percent of all expenditures were for program services.
