Prayer and Praise

Prayer Request - February 2005

Prayer: Please pray for the people of Santiago as they struggle almost one month of solid rain. The rain makes life difficult particularly for the poor. Many roads are so muddy they are impassable, making it impossible for ICC's health team to visit rural communities. Mudslides have damaged and destroyed homes, churches and businesses. Homes are built to increase ventilation so there is no relief from the damp cold, increasing respiratory illness. Several ICC community workers and client family members have been hospitalized. Please pray for a speedy repair of roads and healing for all who are sick.

Praise: Perla, a two and one half year old girl with Downes Syndrome has learned to walk! Olivia, Perla's rehabilitation program, has visited Perla and her mother Jubeleis every week, teaching Jubeleis exercises to do with her daughter. ICC's staff is thankful that Perla is a loved and integral part of her family. Not only her mother, but also her grandfather and father are involved in her development. Please give thanks for Perla's new accomplishment and for the love she receives from her family and from Olivia.
